We specialise in low value imports of all types; fresh flowers, taro, pottery, perfumes, garments, auto parts, bags, medical samples, books and furniture just to name a few of the things...
Self Assessed Clearance (SAC) declarations were added to The Customs Act 1901 (as amended) in October 2005. It became quickly apparent that SAC declarations fell outside the traditional Customs clearance category and a specialist was needed to assist importers who fell in to the SAC declaration category.
We established SAC’s Cargo Clearances in November 2005, with our Head Office based in Brisbane, Australia (if you aren’t based Brisbane, don’t worry, you can be assured the same service no matter where you are based in Australia; majority of our work is completed over the phone and internet).
Providing you with Customs clearance services Australia-wide, we specialise in Customs clearances for air and sea freight shipments with goods that have a value of AUD$1000 or under. We are SAC declaration specialists and it is our job to ensure your imports are cleared quickly and without hassle.
As Australia’s first Self Assessed Clearance (SAC) declaration service provider we are dedicated to providing you, whether you are a private or commercial importer of low value shipments, with a professional service that offers full support and advice; simplifying the process for you and presenting you with an honest picture of costs, time frames and expectations.
We organise clearances for all types of shipments including perishable and non-perishable imports, restricted goods and ‘community protection concerns’. Whether you purchased something over the internet, are importing commercial goods for your business, are importing goods for personal use, have been told that your 'personal effects' are not defined as 'personal effects' by Customs or have been sent a gift from someone overseas, we will assist you in completing the clearance formalities for Customs and AQIS.
Leading the way in SAC declarations, we understand that different importers have different importing requirements and levels of knowledge. Our goal is to ensure that you are armed with the information you require to make informed choices about importing low value goods. Our experienced staff and extensive website ensure you receive the right type of advice and service. This includes:
Pre-shipment advice on goods and packaging to make sure they adhere to Customs and AQIS Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) guidelines and regulations;
Customs support;
AQIS accredited;
AQIS and associated services support, including fumigation treatments and packaging destruction;
Port and airport support;
Australia-wide service;
Delivery services;
Full service for imports from beginning to end; and
DIY information sheets.
SAC’s Cargo Clearances provides you with a variety of options to organise your Customs clearance including over the phone with email/fax access, and in person. When you become an established client, clearances can be lodged via our website 24/7. We also offer easy payment options including over the phone credit card sales, EFTPOS facilities and Pay Pal.
Since SAC declarations are all we do, we are able to provide a thorough and specialised service for all importers who fall under the SAC declaration category. We complete Customs clearances in a quick and professional manner. Most clearances take a maximum of ½ hour and we always keep you in the loop with full documentation, final directions and follow-up. We understand complex and difficult shipments and are happy to provide you with the appropriate service to ensure you get what you want and need. In regular contact with Customs and AQIS, SAC’s Cargo Clearances ensure that the information and services provided to you are always up-to-date.
SAC’s Cargo Clearances has five SAC declaration specialists including freight forwarders and a Customs Broker with a combined experience of over 80 years in the freight industry.
We also have the full support of an international logistics company to draw upon and assist importers with freight forwarding enquiries and clearances for shipments that have a value over the SAC declaration threshold (FID clearances).
