Preparation Please prepare the following documents before calling and have your credit card details ready so your SAC declaration can be processed as quickly as possible:
You will need access to a fax machine or email so you can send us the following documents:
1. A copy of your freight documents or Arrival Notice. 2. Invoice/s (if applicable) or estimation of the Customs Value of your shipment. 3. Evidence of Identity.
Step 1. When you call, one of our friendly staff will explain the complete SAC declaration process to you and answer any questions you have.
Step 2. You will be asked a series of questions over the phone relating to your shipment that act as a declaration to Customs. You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is true and correct. Supplying false or misleading information could result in heavy penalties, including jail and fines.
Step 3. Complete payment of services by credit card.
Note: You can fax or email your documents either before or after talking with us. If you send them before you call us, it will give us an opportunity to review them and clarify information with you when you call.
Step 4. Wait! When we receive your shipment status you will notified of what actions you will need to take (this usually takes about 1/2 hour).
Step 5. The status of your goods will usually be “CLEAR” or “HELD”.
“CLEAR” means Customs and AQIS are satisfied with the information provided and have released your shipment for collection. “HELD” means either Customs or AQIS requires more information before they can release your goods, which can include Quarantine processing, concern over the goods imported (restricted or prohibited goods) or a screening period is needed.
Step 6. When we receive your shipment status you will notified of what actions need to be taken.
If your goods receive a “CLEAR” status they can be collected immediately from the deport where they are held. If your goods receive a “HELD” status, this means that more action is required, usually AQIS processing. Once the further actions needed are completed, your goods can be collected from the depot where they are held.
